Project opportunity:
Osteoradionecrosis in Head and Neck Cancer
Are you interested in head and neck radiotherapy and want to be part of exploring an underserved area of research through MDT collaboration?
In Bristol, we are looking to expand a project assessing the relationship between dental extractions and radiotherapy in patients with osteoradionecrosis (ORN). This project would involve obtaining a list of patients with ORN, then reviewing their hospital dental records and radiotherapy dosimetry. A data collection tool and study protocol will be provided and we would support trainees to approach their local Caldicott guardian or governance team for approval.
Our pilot study has already been accepted as an abstract at ESTRO and we wish to take this research further by establishing a national network.
